Hi! I’m Marie-Pier
I’m the photographer, instructor, and solopreneur behind Précision Photographie.
Passionate about the arts since elementary school, it was in high school, discovering the darkroom, that I fell in love with photography. I went on to study visual arts, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University with a specialization in art education.
During my studies, I worked at an art summer camp, where I taught photography and darkroom techniques to children aged 6 to 12. Before settling in Gaspé, I also worked at a teen photography camp in Old Montreal, where I taught photography alongside a team of fellow photo nerds. These experiences only deepened my desire to share my passion.
After a few years teaching art at the secondary level, I turned my love for photography into a career. In 2022, I launched Precision Photographie, where my attentive, creative, and personalized approach truly comes to life.
Now, as the self-proclaimed #1 photo nerd of the Gaspé Coast, I offer photography courses and meticulously crafted imaging solutions to bring your projects to life.

The Arts
My background and passion for the arts guide my approach to photography. I use visual language tools like color, composition, and framing to convey ideas and emphasize the right details to communicate a message. Practices like painting, drawing, and my love for cinema continue to shape my work, blending technical skills with visual storytelling.
Teaching
I love learning and sharing my knowledge, and my teaching experience enriches my work in creative photography. Whether it’s through clear communication, attention to detail, or truly listening to each person, my training helps me understand your needs and goals. My personalized approach allows me to create tailored content, whether it’s photography courses or photo sessions that reflect your vision. For me, every collaboration is an opportunity to inspire and be inspired.
Nostalgia
Born in 1992, I grew up with VHS tapes and disposable cameras. My passion for film photography comes from its timeless charm and its ability to capture the true essence of a moment. This practice directly influences my approach to digital photography, both in how I shoot and how I edit. I love recreating the warmth and authenticity of film while embracing modern tools.
As a lover of all things vintage, I draw inspiration from the objects, fashion, and unique styles of past decades. If you ever find yourself in a thrift shop, you’ll probably spot me there, hunting for accessories for my next creative photoshoots.
